We are pleased to announce that on the 7th of July 2009 the "Malta Futsal and Five-a-Side Association" was born. During the meeting the first committee was unanimously put in the office by the founding members. The first statute was read out and approved by all the members present.

The association is open to all teams who are participating in the MFA Futsal league including clubs that are Member clubs within the Malta Football Association who are free to join at any time.

Set up as a Non-Profit Organisation, the Association shall be tasked by its members to further grow the sport of Futsal and Five-a-side in Malta and generate revenue for the purpose of Player, Facility and Sport development in general.

Another objective of the association shall be to seek recognition from the Malta Football Association in order to help increase the dialogue through a single organised representative body for all Futsal and Five-a-side football teams on the island. The association clubs intend to continue and further the relationship with the Malta Football Association in order to start providing a meaningful contribution.

The Association committee will be meeting for the first time this week in order to assign the roles for the officials and members who shall form part of the group.

Within the statute, the Association members have allowed for each division participating in the MFA league to have representation on the committee and has also guaranteed, via the statute, the possibility of a number of MFA Member clubs who decide to become members to provide their invaluable experience to enter the committee and contribute to the Sport development.

We have also allowed for the possibility of any club having an individual on the executive committee to be included within the committee as an equal member.
